You don’t have to be at the beach to enjoy Carolina Beach Music. In fact, we have listeners tuning in from all over the country every day. The Edge Radio Show has a high concentration of listeners along the I-40 Corridor from Wilmington to the North Carolina Mountains. (BTW, we know that is not North Carolina in the picture.. but that is a cool picture of mountains somewhere). The Shag City USA Internet Radio station is reaching all 50 states. According to Bo the Webguy, the number of listeners in South Dakota and Wyoming are low, but apparently there are a few in those states that also like this music and turn in from time to time. Big Shout OUT to our listeners in West Jefferson, NC. Thank you for spending your weekday mornings with me on The Edge Radio Show on ShagCityUSA.

Tune in at 9AM

Last week, we asked the question to our listeners about whether they liked to listen to beach music or shag music? I think most agree that Beach Music and Shag Dance Music are not always the same thing. Many shaggers dance to songs that most would consider NOT BEACH MUSIC! Listed below are the Carolina Beach Music Awards for National Shag Song of the Year from 1996 to 2015. What do you think? Most of these songs have played in the beach music clubs and get played on beach music radio shows. Many novice dancers and professionals have shagged to these songs. National Shag Dance Champions have danced to a couple of songs on this list in competition.

Do you consider them beach music or shag music or neither?
